In the last few weeks there have been a number of changes and improvements to PunchCommerce that will make working with our SaaS solution even easier for you. Today we would like to introduce you to the new features in detail.

News and changes in July

Since our last update we have been able to finalize some functions that can be used immediately. This includes, for example, importing products from a URL. Extended functions for OCI 5.0 PunchOut are also now supported. In this article, we will explain exactly what that means.

Email notification of ticket changes

As a PunchCommerce customer you can use our service desk. Here you have the opportunity to report existing problems or errors directly to us via a ticket system. You will now receive an e-mail notification of updates or changes to your ticket. This means that you no longer have to check the current ticket status in the system yourself, but are automatically notified via the e-mail you specified.

Import products from a URL

The function with which you can easily have product files automatically downloaded from a remote URL has recently become available. This eliminates the need for you to manually upload updated product files. The process of updating product data can be fully automated, particularly in conjunction with an automated Excel export to a web server that can be accessed via PunchCommerce.

Compatibility with JAGGAER has been improved

Compatibility with the procurement platform JAGGAER has been significantly improved. As a result, PunchCommerce is now also compatible with JAGGAER's OCI PunchOut.

OCI catalogs for Onventis

Onventis OCI catalogs can now be generated via PunchCommerce and automatically transmitted to Onventis.

OCI functions for OCI 5.0 PunchOut

Another feature is the support of the extended functions for OCI 5.0 PunchOut. These include, for example, VALIDATE, SOURCING, BACKGROUND_SEARCH, but also DETAIL and the creation and download of JSON catalogs. Of course, we will briefly explain what the individual functions can do:

Function: VALIDATE

If an item from a product catalog is inserted into a template for an SAP SRM document, the price of the product, among other things, can change again later. If a new SAP SRM document is created from this template, the price change is normally not taken into account. The VALIDATE function is used to update exactly this product information in the template while the new SAP SRM document is being created.

Function: SOURCING

To activate the SOURCING function, the following parameters are passed to the product catalog when it is called. The catalog responds by displaying search results that match the specified parameters. If you now continue navigating in the product catalogue, you can select items and transfer them to the SRM Server application as usual.

Function: BACKGROUND_SEARCH

So that a user does not have to search through several catalogs one after the other, a cross-catalog search was set up from SRM 3.0. The user enters a search term in the SRM Server application once and all corresponding catalogs are searched. After the search is complete, the SRM Server displays the search results from all catalogs in a list from which the user can select the relevant products.

Function: DETAIL

If a product has already been transferred to an SRM Server document via OCI, you want it to appear again later in the catalogue. The DETAIL function can be used to display detailed data directly in the catalogue, which is sometimes not defined in the OCI and is also not available in the SRM Server.
